TO CARE FOR BLEND
Introduction to TO CARE FOR blend: Immune Booster and Disinfectant
TO CARE FOR essential oil blend contains Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lemon, and Cedar essential oils, all well-known for their incredible disinfectant and immune-boosting properties.
It promotes the function of the immune system in many ways by acting as an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory agent as well as inhibiting inflammatory cytokines.
The essential oils in this blend have also proven to have remarkable anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties.
Cinnamon Bark

The Cinnamon plant originated in tropical Asia and was particularly used in Sri Lanka and India. Now, the shrub is grown in almost every tropical region of the world. The spice, owing to its vast medicinal uses, has found a prominent position in traditional medicines and has been used in many cultures for treating a variety of health disorders including diarrhea, arthritis, menstrual cramps, heavy menstruation, yeast infections, colds, flu, and digestive problems.6 The most important constituents of cinnamon are cinnamaldehyde and trans-cinnamaldehyde (Cin), which are present in the essential oil, thus contributing to the fragrance and to the various biological activities observed with cinnamon.
To date, several antimicrobial activities of cinnamon and its oils have been reported in various studies. For example, Matan et al. reported the effects of cinnamon oils on different bacterial (Pediococcus halophilus and Staphylococcus aureus), fungal (Aspergillus flavus, Mucor plumbeus, Penicillium roqueforti, and Eurotium sp.), and yeast species (Candida lipolytica, Pichia membranaefaciens, Debaryomyces hansenii, andZygosaccharomyces rouxii), indicating that cinnamon is a natural anti-microbial agent.
In a study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, the antibacterial activities of the essential oils from leaves of two Cinnamomum osmophloeum clones (A and B) and their chemical constituents were investigated in this study. The nine strains of bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella sp., and Vibrio parahemolyticus, were used in the antibacterial tests. Results from the antibacterial tests demonstrated that the indigenous cinnamon B leaf essential oils had an excellent inhibitory effect on these organisms.
Besides its anti-microbial effects, Cinnamon is used for its properties as an anti-diabetic substance, along with being protective against cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
Clove

Clove oil is extracted from the evergreen tree of clove, which produces a flower bud that has numerous medicinal properties. Clove was extensively used in ancient Indian and Chinese civilizations and it spread to other parts of the world, including Europe, during the seventh and eighth centuries. Even now, clove is used widely in several Indian and Chinese cuisines.
The high levels of Eugenol contained in clove essential oil are responsible for its strong biological and antimicrobial activities. It is well known that both Eugenol and Clove essential oil phenolic compounds can denature proteins and react with cell membrane phospholipids changing their permeability and inhibiting a great number of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria as well as different types of yeast.
In a study published by the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, it was shown that Clove exerted immunomodulatory/anti-inflammatory effects, mostly through the action of its component Eugenol.
In another study by the Natural Product Journal, Eugenol was found to inhibit inflammatory cytokines by macrophages in a murine model.
Combined as a TO CARE FOR blend
Goñi et al. described the antibacterial activity a combination of cinnamon and clove oils against Gram-positive organisms (Listeria monocytogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, andBacillus cereus), as well as against Gram-negative bacteria (Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Yersinia enterocolitica).
